Hello List!

I searched the list and wiki for information about an Aladdin eToken PRO
Anywhere but could not find much. I got the device few weeks ago and
since then try to make it work as drop in replacement for the older
eToken models we are using at the moment (openct, opensc, pkcs15-tool)
and which cannot be purchased any longer. It seems to be kind of hybrid
device. At first it appears in lsusb's output as:

Bus 002 Device 009: ID 0529:3003 Aladdin Knowledge Systems

Which is recognized as SCSI CD-ROM. Few seconds later this device
disappears and another one is listed:

Bus 002 Device 011: ID 0529:0600 Aladdin Knowledge Systems eToken Pro
64k (4.2)

This one has the same usb id as the eTokens we are using at the moment
(with openct/opensc). Since I could not get it work, I used Aladdin's
software tools to get some information about the token.

eToken PRO Anywhere:

Total memory capacity: 32768

eToken card free space: 21192

From what I've read on the list about java based cards I would say odds
are not so good.

So, does anybody have any hints how to use the new eToken with
openct/opensc or is there any other approach to make them work?

Thanks in advance

Hello!

Referring to my mail from last week I wanted to clear some things up.

To sum up my investigations until now:

eToken Pro 32k and 64k (4.2B) have been and will be general available.
An end of sales date is not known at the moment. eToken Pro Anywhere is
a new device which was released Nov. 2008 and is still under controlled
availability.

The rest of the story is kind of general communication failure, sorry.

Regards

-joachim

I am happy to report that Windows 7 seems not to have any issues that I can
find with OpenSC latest rev and the Aladdin 64k 4.2B and 72K tokens.

However Aladdin PKI software seems to have issues working with other parts
of the OS the reader seems to be okay...

Have anyone else seen / worked with Windows 7 RC 1 and the OpenSC software?

This device is different from the other [1] Aladdin token I have in my list.
Can you follow the procedure at [2] to know if this device can be used
by my CCID driver.
